Painting on wood- Part 2

I’ve been doing some more work on the wood project, so I’ve made a start on the third Sarah painting (despite having not fully finished the second Sarah). Their quite difficult to take photo’s of as the sun has gone down and the electric light reflects all too easily off the paint.

A few photos from a recent visit to Glasgow with Steph and Sarah.

Photography- dropped ice cream

A few photo’s I took in summer when on a walk near my family home, a little girl dropped her ice cream cone on the pavement just as the van started to drive off. She then ran home (presumably for some more money) then chased the ice cream van to the other side of the estate. I saw her later with a new ice-cream so I guess she caught it.

A poem I wrote about tea

I do like a good cuppa, hot bevy a brew
I usually have one sugar, but sometimes a sneaky two.
I nice biscuit is good to dunk in there as well
Held for three seconds gives it a suitable swell.
There is lots of confectionary you can pick for the job
It’s been highly argued you can’t beat a hobnob.
But a lovely soggy digestive is awfully tasty
It has a tan where you dunk it and the rest stays funny and pasty.
A chocolate bourbon is often a good bet
With its name written on top incase you forget.
Though I have to say a Curly Wurly is dipper of choice
I think it would sound like Barry white if it had its own voice.
I like to try and save Curly Wurly as a special treat
One to enjoy after a days hard work when I’m resting my feet.
I like to dip it in the tea then watch it droop
It looks like a funny old man with a caramel stoop.
They seam to last for ages and I’m sure there still 15p
Its just the perfect partner for the humble little tea.

Painting on wood

Okay, well here’s what I’m doing at the minute. The current project for illustration is ‘wood’ it involves painting on wood, really innovative I know. For mine I decided to set myself the task of painting 7 portraits of my flatmate Sarah doing different expressions. The idea was to get across some element of personality and character in the pieces. So far I’ve managed one and a bit. My room has as usual descended into total chaos: far too many cups of tea, and tubes of paint.

Paw Prints

On my second attempt at screen printing I decided to make my cat the subject.

A few fold up birds

A few fold up birds, I got bought a set for Christmas last year and decided to make a couple to make my bedroom look a little bit more interesting. Yet to make the others, I will do when I get a minute…or 30. I'm sure you'll agree their lovely.

Some photo’s I took on an autumnal evening when I decided to chase clouds to the Tay. The wonderful phonebox makes an appearance.

DJ wall painting

Here’s some work I did during my other life as a youth worker, they wanted to renovate the DJ room in the youth centre, you can see the work that was there before I started on the second picture down.

I chose to use images of two of the lads who use the DJ room; you can see them in the top two pictures. I used these to make up two graphics which I then painted on the walls.

Collage work, not my strong point.

A bit of collage work, it was part of a project we had to base on a classmate. I have never been very good nor particularly enjoy collage. Its far too much cutting and sticking for my liking just put the pencil back in my hand.

These were made by drawing out the individual layers and then putting them together on Photoshop. I don’t think these have come out too disastrously I just wont be repeating the process
